According to the appeal, internal affairs officers led by a prevention inspector entered one of the households in Khavast District and attempted to take the applicant’s spouse away. The applicant stated that the officers had not explained the reasons for their actions or presented the relevant documents.

The appeal was taken under the Ombudsman’s supervision. The arguments set out in the appeal were examined by the Ombudsman’s Regional Representative in Syrdarya Region, after which the materials were forwarded with an official follow-up letter to the Syrdarya Regional Department of Internal Affairs for a legal assessment of the actions of the internal affairs officers.

According to the information received, an internal investigation was initiated in respect of certain officers of the Khavast District Department of Internal Affairs. Based on its findings, four officers were subjected to disciplinary sanctions in the form of a reprimand and a warning for shortcomings identified in the performance of their official duties.

In addition, the issue of giving a final assessment to the actions of one other officer was referred to the Disciplinary Council.
